The Vimshottari Dasha system divides a life into planetary periods, each lasting years, subdivided into shorter sub-periods. You are always inside a nested set of them. The character of a period tends to describe what kind of effort the next few years reward.
A Mercury sub-period often coincides with negotiation, writing, teaching, trading — anything that runs on communication and quick iteration. A Jupiter period tends to expand scope: bigger institutions, mentors, teaching roles, moves abroad. A Saturn period rewards consolidation over launch.
