Venus and what you actually value

8 February 2026

Venus is usually introduced as the planet of love, which undersells it considerably.

Venus describes taste, comfort, aesthetics and the terms on which you exchange value — with people, with money, with your own time. It shows up as much in how you spend and what you refuse to compromise on as in who you are drawn to.

Two people with the same relationship history can have very different Venus placements, and the difference tends to explain what each of them was actually pursuing: security, beauty, freedom, status, ease.

It is also a useful placement for career conversations, particularly for people in creative or client-facing work. Undercharging, over-accommodating and choosing the pleasant option over the right one all leave fingerprints here.

The question we tend to ask around Venus is unglamorous but clarifying: what are you paying for, and in what currency?
